FAQ
Questions people ask before they start.
Honest answers about how HearingBrands works, what to expect, and what’s different.
Does HearingBrands sell real hearing aids?
Yes. HearingBrands helps customers move forward with trusted prescription hearing aid options, matched through the HearingBrands model instead of a one-size-fits-all sales path. You are not limited to one manufacturer or one technology tier.
Do I need a hearing test before I start?
You don't need a hearing test to begin — you can start Lifestyle Match™ without one. However, a current hearing test is required before any device can be programmed, released, or shipped. This is a safety and regulatory requirement, not a sales tactic. If you already have a recent test, you can share it during your intake. If not, we'll help you arrange one.
What is the difference between Full Pay and Flex Pay?
Full Pay is a single payment. It includes 6 months of HearForward™ support with optional extensions (18 months at $500 or 36 months at $750). All three technology tiers — Essential, Standard, and Premium — are available. Flex Pay is a structured payment path (not a subscription or third-party credit product). It includes 36 months of HearForward™ support built in. Flex Pay is available for Essential and Standard tiers only. Both paths require a hearing test review before devices are programmed or shipped.
What is Life First Care™?
Life First Care™ is the overarching HearingBrands service standard. It means every customer receives professional fitting, programming coordination, honest guidance, and ongoing support access — before, during, and after purchase. It is the commitment. HearForward™ is the support experience within it.
What is HearForward™ and how long does it last?
HearForward™ is the ongoing support experience within Life First Care™: remote adjustments, app and Bluetooth guidance, troubleshooting, maintenance help, and annual check-ins. Duration depends on your purchase path: Full Pay includes 6 months, with optional extensions to 18 months ($500) or 36 months ($750). Flex Pay includes 36 months built into the monthly payment. Second Life™ includes 90 days of support after reprogramming, with optional HearForward™ add-on.
What is Second Life™ and what does it cover?
Second Life™ is for eligible hearing aids you already own — devices purchased elsewhere, inherited, bought used, or out of warranty. It includes device evaluation ($49), cleaning, programming check, and if eligible, reprogramming service ($450). Eligibility depends on device age, brand access, condition, programming compatibility, and hardware status. Second Life™ is not a device warranty or guarantee.
Can HearingBrands help if I already own hearing aids?
Yes, when eligible. Second Life™ helps clean, check, reprogram, and support certain existing hearing aids. Start a Second Life™ request and a specialist will evaluate your device and let you know if it qualifies.
What brands of hearing aids does HearingBrands work with?
HearingBrands works with leading prescription hearing aid manufacturers including Phonak, Oticon, Signia, ReSound, Starkey, Widex, Unitron, and Rexton. Your match is based on your hearing needs, lifestyle, and preferences — not on which brand pays the highest commission.
Is HearingBrands a replacement for medical care?
No. HearingBrands provides hearing aid education, matching support, purchasing guidance, programming coordination, and care support. It does not diagnose medical conditions or replace care from a licensed medical provider when medical evaluation is needed. If you have sudden hearing loss, pain, drainage, or other medical concerns, see a physician first.
How does the return process work?
Return terms are confirmed with your specialist before an order is finalized. HearingBrands supports a 45-day return period, but the specific terms, restocking policies, and any applicable fees are confirmed before you commit — not buried in fine print after purchase.
What about shipping and delivery?
Shipping terms and timelines are confirmed with your specialist before an order is finalized. Devices cannot ship until a current hearing test is reviewed and programming is complete.
What about financing terms?
Financing and payment terms — whether Full Pay or Flex Pay — are provided and confirmed with your specialist before an order is finalized. HearingBrands Flex Pay is a HearingBrands payment path, not a third-party credit product. For third-party financing options like CareCredit, terms are set by the financing provider.
Do you accept insurance or Medicare Advantage?
HearingBrands can help you understand your benefits, but coverage depends on your specific plan. Policy details are confirmed with your specialist before an order is finalized. We recommend verifying your hearing aid benefit with your plan provider directly.
What happens after I submit my Lifestyle Match™?
A HearingBrands team member reviews your answers and reaches out to guide the next step — typically a focused 15–20 minute conversation about your hearing goals, budget, and best path forward. You are not committed to anything by starting.
How long does the process take?
The Lifestyle Match™ intake takes about 5–10 minutes. A specialist typically follows up within one business day. Programming and delivery timelines depend on your hearing test status, device selection, and path — your specialist will give you a clear timeline during your conversation.
